Here's a sales tip from my work in home improvement sales training:
If you sell in your customers' homes, try keeping a little package of dog treats and cat treats with you in your bag. When you run across a prospect who is clearly a pet lover, ask if you can give their pet(s) a treat.
It's fun to do (especially for someone like me who loves animals), and your pet-loving customer will love you for it. The cats and dogs won't complain either.

Great idea! I am a animal lover and I never did that but now I wish I did. I love it at starbucks (and the dump coincidentally) when they give my black lab Odin a treat at the drive through!
